Well, I just wanted to add a closing comment to
https://sourceforge.net/tracker2/?func=detail&aid=2630791&group_id=1&atid=2
00001, to confirm that it now seems to work ok, and to say `thanks'.
However, although you said:

you closed the item, and you also closed it to further comments, so how was
I supposed to do that?

Actually, there was one minor issue I noted, when I verified the updated
behaviour: the mirror chosen initially was `fastbull', which was *very*
slow to respond. On clicking the link to select an alternative mirror, I
was presented with a dialogue box which suggested that I make an
alternative choice, but there were no options to choose from, save for
`automatic choice', which I still had to activate before clicking `ok'.
Maybe that's the way it's supposed to work? It does seem rather counter
intuitive, though.

Where the dialogue says `Select a different mirror, I expected to see a list of choices, such as `heanet', `kent', etc., (as it used to be in the past, with the previous site theme), but only `Auto-select' is shown, and nothing is selected as default.
