traceroute(8) contains:
If there is no response within a
5.0 seconds (default), an "*" is printed for that probe.
IMHO it would be useful to extend this into
..., an "*" (asterisk) is printed...
since "sterisk" was the first thing I was searching for in that man page
(mostly since searching for the wildcard pattern * could be problematic)
and obviously did NOT succeed. "*" is a very important element of tcpdump
output, thus adding the "asterisk" verbatim spelling is especially
important, to let people locate it quickly.
