5 Selective inventory view (by item class) - ID: 2353726
Last Update: Comment added ( j-p-e-g )

I'd love to be able to only view certain types of item in the inventory,
similar to what NetHack has bound to the 'I' key. It could prompt with a
list of the different types of items in your inventory (scrolls, wands,
potions etc.), and then you select which you want to view. For instance, I
often find myself wanting to view all my wands, but if my inventory is long
and the wand list overlaps between two pages I have to keep paging back and
forth to get the whole picture. Understood, with this feature i could still
have enough wands to overflow to an additional page, but it is less likely
to happen and I'm sure this feature would have other uses.

Ah, okay, dropping is another matter entirely. Sounds useful.

And for the record: Z? was just an example, as well. :) Obviously, the
same works for r?, e?, W? etc.

I can see how that would have a similar effect but I'm usually checking
what I have, to decide what I can drop in a stash (inventory management).
Similarly, I'd also like a selective drop view, so that I can just view
items of a certain type for dropping (this is similar to 'D' in NetHack).
Also, it isn't always wands, that was just an example.

A shortcut for jumping to certain categories might already be on the TODO
list, but what you can do in the meantime is use Z? (which won't allow you
to really view them, but at least you can check which wands you have that
way).
