gumstix

I get the following error when trying the initial build

$ bitbake gumstix-basic-image
ERROR: Unable to open conf/bitbake.conf

Some of the posts on Google seem to indicate it might be a BBpath problem,
but there isn't any detailed instructions on how to fix it.

Anyone know what to do to fix it?
