5 GTK+ Skin Bug v0-5-0 - ID: 2209950
Last Update: Settings changed ( kse )

Using the GTK+ Skin, once JPasswords times out and minimizes, trying to
access it again causes the security password check pop-up box to appear,
but the pop-up box is blank (no text at all). Sometimes I can simply click
on it and type my password (blindly) and JPasswords will open and sometimes
it will not.

I have not experienced this behavior in the Metal skin.

OS is Ubuntu 8.04
Init Modus = Portable
Java.runtime.version = 1.6.0_07-b06
Java.vendor = Sun
OS.arch = i386
os.version = 2.6.24-21-generic

I am setting this to "CLOSED" as the problem appears to be a bug with Java
and Swing apps. I had the same behavior in another Java/Swing app and
found a resolution in the Ubuntu Forms at:
http://ubuntuforums.org/archive/index.php/t-362821.html

Basically, to resolve this issue I added the following line:
export AWT_TOOLKIT="MToolkit"

To the end of this file:
/etc/profiles

Thanks again for the great product!!

Wolfgang, sorry to hear you are have problems with Linux. I think that
problem I am having may be related to running compiz-fusion. I find when
running JPasswords on a plain Ubuntu install on VirtualBox the product
seems to work fine including the GTK skin.

I really am finding the product helpful. Thanks!!

I am currently not in the position to verify or test the program under
Linux OS because Linux just doesn't work for me and I'm not prepared to
spend endless futile hours with it (any more). I'ld be happy to see
somebody in the developer list who might be able to contribute to Linux
system verification.

If the problem is limited to GTK look-and-feel then I can say that this
skin has proven bad before and JPasswords is not to make responsible for
it. Please report to the developers of this skin.

Regards
- Wolfgang

Also found with all skins when JPasswords is minimized and locked, entering
the password in the Password Security Check pop-up does not allow JPassword
to be restored to the desk top. You can see JPasswords in the task
bar/panel, but it won't open. You need to right click and select close and
then re-launch JPasswords to use it again.
