String node or button node have some feature to display the full string
when the string is "pretty chopped". the text node (node with many string
lines) dont have that feature.

this is fixed now with the wrap parameter of text nodes, no?

The newUI-change will not happen anytime soon. We should either change the
UI "engine" or improve the current.

I don't know whether it is usefull to change actual drawing. There are
proposals for new UI that would make these changes obsolete.

Sorry, although my previous comment was right you must have thought the
item description window and ammo types. With Höehrer's modification we can
expand the item description window as item container doesn't take so much
space. But this needs some drawing which I hate. :(

I fixed it in aircraft equip menu but this is soldier equip. Well, I think
this is the last menu which uses buttons for item category select (which
should be changed). The only problem is that this menu has the buttons
vertically below eachother and we don't get much more space horizontally by
changing this. Ideas?
