Open the repository in Windows Safari.
Select any widget by clicking on it.
Click on View at the bottom.
When the View Item dialog appears, click on "View Metadata File".

With Windows Safari 3.1.2, the content will get evaluated as HTML, not XML,
so you don't see <widget>...</widget> but instead you only see the text
content of the metadata file. Works fine on Windows Firefox and Windows
IE.

With IE6, the "View Metadata File" link doesn't appear in the dialog.
