5 footnote numbering - ID: 2039793
Last Update: Attachment added ( joelfisler )

In the PDF version, footnotes attached to glossary entries are numbered in
a slightly odd way. They don't go consecutively from 1-n, but rather seem
to jump. So the footnotes towards the end of the document are numbered 250,
260 etc, even though there are no more than 40 footnotes in total. Is there
any way of correcting this, or perhaps using a symbol instead of number to
indicate a footnote?

I wish it would be so simple. Unfortunately the numbering is not correct if
you choose the single-method. See the screenshots, there are two footnotes
1 on the screenshot.

I did a quick fix for the GITTA project. The problem seems to be with the
automatic numbering in core/presentation/print/elml.xsl in lines 1289 and
1294. I changed in both lines level="any" to level="single". After these
changes, the footnote numbers start with 1 at each page and are numbered
incrementally within the page.
NB. I only did limited testing since we don't have too many lessions with
footnotes. But for the ones I tested, it worked.

I spent some hours with this but did not find a solution yet. Will keep on
working...
