5 image positions not preserved - ID: 2000846

Details:

When stepping through images (e.g. by using PageDown or PageUp), image
positions are not preserved, making it tedious to determine, e.g. which of
a
series of shots to keep. Image zoom settings are preserved just fine if
the
appropriate option is set.

GQview handles this correctly.

P.S. Thanks a lot for this much-needed update to gqview! Love it.

Date: 2008-08-21 20:26 Sender: zas_ Yes, this stuff needs to be closely inspected. The role of the hidden option image.scroll_reset_method is not very clear.
Date: 2008-06-23 14:38 Sender: tkunze Reopening. Turns out, this option is quite brittle and is lost on a number of actions such as deleting an image or displaying the histogram. Steps to reproduce: 1. Set "image.scroll_reset_method: 2" in ~/.geeqie/geeqierc 2. Start geeqie, set zoom and position and step through images: position is remembered correctly. 3. Delete ("safe delete") an image: position is lost and "image.scroll_reset_method: 2" forgotten forever. 4. Ditto if an the histogram is displayed ("I" key).

Date: 2008-06-23 14:11 Sender: tkunze Never mind. I found the GQview option that accomplishes this: "scroll_reset_method: 2". And it appears geeqie renamed it to "image.scroll_reset_method: 2".
