Hey, I was just thinking that we could try to make an advanced window and a
basic window. In other words, if the user clicks view>advanced, they will
be presented with an interface with all the options, i.e. authentication,
ssl, etc.

If the user clicks view>basic, they will see a minimalistic GUI in which
there are only a few basic fields. This is to all developers on the team.
If you have time, let's see what you can come up with.
