I construct a YUI menu button from a <select> element where one of its
<option> elements is "selected". However YUI does not initialize the
selectedMenuItem configuration attribute, so when the form is submitted,
the <select> input is missing:
http://cgi.sfu.ca/~jdbates/tmp/yui/200804040/test.html
The test case is a simple <form> with a submit button and two <select>
elements. The <select> elements are identical - the "CCC" <option> is
"selected" - except that the second <select> element is converted to a YUI
menu button.
If the submit button is simply clicked, without touching the YUI menu
button, then only the first <select> input is included in the request - the
second <select> input is missing.
If "CCC" is re-selected from the YUI menu button (or any other option is
selected) and then the submit button is clicked, then both <select> inputs
are included in the request.
I expect that when a YUI menu button is constructed from a <select> element
where one of its <option> elements is "selected", then the selectedMenuItem
configuration attribute should be initialized with that <option>
Thanks and best wishes, Jack
