Thanks for the proposals, but you're preaching to the choir. If you want
to make a real support, you may donate ;)

I was about to submit an item to request this. It would be much
appreciated. "Book View" is almost useless if you can't control the
chapter/scene numbers... it'll display things in the order I created them
instead of the order I intend to use them in the finished work, and once
I've created a few dozen scenes, inserting one in the middle and
renumbering them is a problem. The program seems to allow me to create
duplicate scene numbers, which may help, but it's not clear that that's
safe. The "Summary Book" report is, similarly, nearly useless because it
seems to write things out by scene number and I can't control scene numbers
effectively.

Some specific suggestions for how it could be made better:

Easy: give each chapter/scene in the "Book View" a pair of up/down
buttons. Pressing up or down will swap the chapter/scene's number with
that of the previous or next one, so you can move an individual
chapter/scene up and down the list. This would be easy to implement,
though cumbersome if someone wants to move a scene far.

Less easy: allow scenes to be dragged up and down on the "Book View",
with auto-scrolling, so it's easy to put them right where I want them.

Also valuable: allow chronological sorting of scenes (with renumbering to
make the sort stick). This way I wouldn't have to manually sort them into
chronological order, which is the order I'd usually want. However, I'd
typically also want to make some exceptions to chronological order
(flashbacks and so on), so ideally (and this would be the harder part) I
could select a range of chapters in the "Book View" and then sort just the
selected range.
