Last Update: Comment added ( leonbax )

Please,

Since you do not state in your article, nor anywhere on any page regarding
your work, that this program will not work in Excel 2007 (but you do say
that it will work in any Excel of 2000 or later) how long will it be until
MIX is functional in Excel 2007?

Many of us at the University were just beginning to use and enjoy your work
- then we made our upgrade ... and guess what? Now we can no longer make
any use of your software, though a few were preparing to use it as a
platform for teaching meta-analysis to students. We were using the latest
release on Windows Vista machines - and now using Office 2007.

It's an excellent piece of work ... but please, when will the "fix-it" be
released? What must happen to bring this forward? Can a call be made to
Microsoft for developer assistance? Anything?

Thank you so much for your efforts - we just feel left out in the cold at
the moment.

When we wrote the article, Excel 2007 was not yet in the picture and we
had no idea that the interface would be so different. We are working on an
upgrade and expect it to be available by the end of 2008. However, as a
user of Office 2007, you must realize that things have changed
substantially and not only at the surface. Things have changed so much that
we have even contemplated crossing over to Open Office but are currently
nevertheless focusing on Excel 2007.

Sorry for the inconvenience. Please keep in mind also that MIX is software
made primarily by one person (me) and offered to you for free. Things take
time...

Leon
