5 Project web admin issue: iwcd - ID: 1909459
Last Update: Comment added ( sf-robot )

I misstyped a word on the index page of my project web page. Since all I
had to do was insert letter I used emacs to edit it.

I opened index.html, made my change and saved it. If I open it again I see
the change. However, when I go to my project web page I still get the
uncorrected page. I have tried clearing the cache on my browser.

Am I missing a step or something. I deleted the backup of the old file so
I don't see where the old version is coming from

Greetings,

What is the full path of the index.html file that you have been editing?
Your project page is being served from the contents of the
/home/groups/i/iw/iwcd/htdocs directory. Please verify that you are
editing the correct file.

Thank you,

Right now I am using Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 2 and am
using Internet Explorer version 6 SP2. I also have the problem with Fedora
7 and Firefox 2.0.

The page with the problem is: http://iwcd.sourceforge.net/index.html

As I mentioned I have edited the page index.html page in the shell account
with the emacs editor changing the typo industial to industrial, but, I
still see the old index page. Also as I mentioned I hae also cleared the
cache on the browser and still get the uncorrected page.

AS I stated before, I edited the existing file index.html using emacs as
explained:

Edit on the remote shell server: You may edit project web content files
directly on the project shell server by logging-in interactively using SSH,
then using one of the provided text editors.

The following text editors are provided on the project shell servers:

Vim ('vim'), which supports Vi editor commands; is installed as our 'vi'.

Nano ('nano'), which supports Pico key bindings when executed as 'pico'.
Emacs ('emacs') and XEmacs ('xemacs').

If I open it again after I saved my change with emacs I see the change.
However, when I go to the project web page (http://iwcd.sourceforge.net/)
the change has not occurred.

I don't know how to make this any clearer. I have read the documentation
you referenced several time before the first post. From what I can gather
editing with emacs is all I have to do to make a simple change.

The file I want to use is "index.html". It is located at shell.sf.net
home/users/t/th/thmort/index.html.

The file I want replaced can be found at:
http://iwcd.sourceforge.net/index.html

The word I need to fix is "industrial" it is missing an "r':

"A Microsoft Access database to assist industries and POTWs manage
industial wastewater self monitoring data"

Should be:

"A Microsoft Access database to assist industries and POTWs manage
industrial wastewater self monitoring data"

Thanks

The page that has not changed is at: http://iwcd.sourceforge.net/

I changed the file index.html at the shell account shell.sf.net for this
project. I can't get at it from where I am at but the project name is iwcd
and my username is thmort.

I thought all I did originally to set up the project web site was to
upload my web pages there.

Thanks for the help
