1 .NET Porting? - ID: 1901100
Last Update: Settings changed ( noamik )

Hi, I just saw this project. Looks interesting, because I often need to
type chars from Greek alphabet.

What about porting it to .NET Framework and .NET Compact Framework for
handheld devices? I'm an experienced VB programmer. If I could be of any
help, please contact me.

Problem is, this would not be a porting but basically a rewrite, 'cause
more than 90% of this projects code are graphics related and Java swing
specific. I would suggest you to look whether there is already another
project like this one, but written in .NET and join this one, or if there
is none start it. If you start one yourself, I would of course help you, if
you would like both projects to agree on one data format to make keyboard
layouts exchangeable. Same is true for advise if you have concept decisions
to make which you would like to discuss. I never used .NET and as long as I
can I will avoid to do so, as .NET ties you to the Microsoft platform,
which I use as few as possible.
To make a long story short: I will not port it to .NET, especially as this
project is far from being ready or have all wanted features implemented,
but I will gladly support anyone, who would like to do so.
