Startup check for Perl - ID: 1878532

Please change gplot.pl to a command shell script that will
invoke the perl script and pass along the arguments.
This will change the command from "gplot.pl" to "gplot".
An additional check in the shell script would be to test for perl
installation.
Non-linux shops would benefit from this.
