Launchy

Tracker: Bugs

5 Launchy v 2.0 - unknow high cpu load - ID: 1860397
Last Update: Comment added ( ffs )

After switching vom Launchy 1.25 to 2.0 (clean install), i had to setup
everything new.

Thats not the Problem, but Launchy causes a high cpu load from time to
time. Time to time means periodically.
Seams to be strange, ' cause i had turned the auto-index-function of by
entering "0" as value (option->General->System Options->Minutes
between[...]).

Apart from that, Version 2.0 runs smooth on all of my machines (2 WinXP, 1
WinServer2003).

The only "quick and dirty"-workaround is, to start Launchy with minor
priority. But thats not the way the problem should be solved ;-).

Setting the priority of Launchy to anything below normal causes ass
launched applications to be at the same priority which is not what I
desire.

Launchy takes 99% of CPU time on every startup because it is re-indexing
for what ever reason.

This is really annoying and locking up my machine for 1-2 minutes.

same problem on vista 32bit... sometimes it makes cpu load 50% or more...

Happens to me too on every instance, even with low priority. Just out of
the blue it'll spike up to 50-100% CPU and stick around 50 until I kill the
process. Every few seconds (30-60) it spikes to the point that it freezes
up my PC and even sending ctrl+alt+delete is delayed a good 5-10 seconds.

I encounter the same problem, that is too annoying... I am getting back
to V1.25 and wait for a fix.
