Tinn-R

Tracker: Bugs

5 Versions 1.19.44 and 43 won't open. "Access violation" - ID: 1850335
Last Update: Comment added ( jcfaria )

Both the most recent (1.19.44) and the prior one, but no previous versions,
give this message when I click on the Tinn-R shortcut:
Access violation 006C296F in module Tinn-R.exe. Read of address 000000D8.
I'm on a Thinkpad T61 running Windows XP Pro with Service Pack latest (2?).
The earlier version did this 3-4 times, then the problem went away and I
used it successfully. the .44 version just won't let me get in.

Hello,

- I see View|Results, but not View|Results|Ini log:
Make "results interface" by toggling the "View/Results" option and give a
looked in the results interface (first page in the bottom of the screen)

- In other words, even I cannot replicate the problem:
Under Windows (all) sometimes the best option is to reboot your computer!
;-)

- Thanks, and thanks so much for a GREAT program:
Many thanks and we've been trying to make it better day by day!

- I was looking for a 'donate' button on SourceForge but did not find
one:

I could not do what you suggest because I could not open v. 1.19.4.4.
Since submitting the bug report, I had uninstalled 1.19.4.4 and installed
1.19.4.2, which opens fine and I used it all day yesterday. But when I
navigate its menus, I see View|Results, but not View|Results|Ini log.

Just now, I downloaded and installed 1.19.4.5. It installed and opened
with no error message. So, out of curiosity, I again downloaded and
installed 1.19.4.4. It too installed and opened with no error message.
Thinking that perhaps my previous installation of 1.19.4.4 may have been
done when I had R open (I ~know~ Tinn-R wasn't open), I opened R, closed
Tinn-R and then again used 1.19.4.4 setup to install 1.19.4.4. It opens
with no error message.

In other words, even I cannot replicate the problem. I have no
explanation, but the problem was very real for my initial installations of
1.19.4.3 and 1.19.4.4. I still don't know what you meant on finding an ini
or log file, as the newer versions don't have the menu path you suggested
either (I probably just misunderstood). Anyway, the problem is fixed now,
so I suppose you should close the bug report.
Thanks, and thanks so much for a GREAT program.

P.S. I was looking for a 'donate' button on SourceForge but did not find
one.

Hi,

Could you send me a copy of your 'log ini' file? See it at: main menu
'View/Results/Ini log. Please, copy it and send me the file.
Also, could you give more details about "when I click on the Tinn-R
shortcuts": it is no clear for me.
I've been using cited versions (1.19.4.3 and 1.19.4.4) under XP (desktop)
and Vista Home Premium (notebook Sony Vaio) without any problem.
