Some sites enable auditing / alarming of failed logins, and do not allow
monitoring tools to be installed directly on their oracle server. This
means that --db and --login are not suitable for those installations.

A new option along the lines of --validlogin would be beneficial. It should
attempt to log with a command-line provided name and password, and check
for the output 'Connected to' in the response.
