5 Awkward pronounciations - ID: 1800399
Last Update: Tracker Item Submitted ( belg4mit )

Dictionaries such as eng-fra and fra-eng provide pronounciations of words.
However, they include the pronounciation for the source word rather than
for the translated word. This comes down to a matter of how the dictionary
is likely to be used: translating occasional words from a known tongue, or
looking up unknown words of the foreign language. I find the former far
more likely for dict://ionaries; and a case where the correct
pronounciation is likely to be more important. It's possible to requery the
server with the translated word, adding load, if there are no problems with
character sets and locales... Other than this work around, possible
solutions include reversing the order of suppplied pronounciations, and
including that for both the source and destination words.
