OpenProj - Project Management

Tracker: Bugs

2 Can't open existing *.planner project - ID: 1788611
Last Update: Comment added ( nobody )

I've been trying to open a project created in Gnome Planner.

System Info: I'm using the debian beta 3 package on Ubuntu 7.04, and I'm
using the current ubuntu package for java 1.6 to run openproj.

The problem(s):
Firstly, the .planner file doesn't show up in the "open file" dialog unless
I select file type "all files" - the filter for *.planner files doesn't
pick it up. The file is called "project_plan_lmc4.planner". I can attach it
if necessary - I'd rather remove a few bits of info from it first though!

Secondly, when I select this file and click "Open", the interface tells me
it's loading, but the progress bar dialog just sits there doing nothing
forever. The interface is not dead, and the program hasn't crashed -
everything else continues to work fine (even before clicking on "Cancel" in
the progress dialog box, which is possibly another bug?)

When running the app from a shell, I get the following log messages printed
out, finishing with the error stack trace:

I'm having the same problem with SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop (Novell) and
OpenProj 1.42.

Same here evaluating OpenProj, but I will need to import Gnome planner
files.
I am using: Ubuntu 7.10, Java 1.6.0_03-b05, OpenProj 1.2

Symptom:
When I am opening Planner type files, I dont see the planner files in the
dialog box. After selecting all types, I select the file but the opening
progress bar fails at 1/4 way. It just hangs there. Below is the message i
get.

Confirmed. Seems to be a de-serialization issue with the Sun MSV XML
Validator.

Has a solution been found for this yet? I have the same problem.

I am considering all project planners and had settled on *.planner files
but think OpenProj can deliver a lot more but like the others here, I
simply get a load bar that stalls while the program is still live.

I am on Gutsy (Ubuntu 7.10) and OpenProj 1.0-1

Can anyone offer any help?

Geoff

I second that bug report.
(openproj beta6 on kubuntu 7.04 with sun's java 1.5.0_11-b03)

I can confirm the above behaviour.

I'm using Beta 4 and Ubuntu Dapper.
