BF menu text unreadable - ID: 1748113

I have attached a screen shot (PNG)
The text in BF is totally unreadable, tiny beyond use.
I attempted both the stable and dev versions, both look the same: it is
just unusable. There must be a simple fix for this, please guide me to the
answer.
