5 Session_Start difficulties - ID: 1721567
Last Update: Comment added ( jaybonci )

Hi I'm trying to run my CMS on the sourceforge.net project page I
registered, but it seems to be having some trouble with session_start();

I at some times get the following error:

Fatal error: session_start(): Failed to initialize storage module: user
(path: /tmp) in /home/groups/d/di/diviacms/htdocs/admin/admin_header.php on
line 3

But refreshing a bunch of times results in a working webpage, only after
going to another page again I get that error,,

Now I checked my coding but it seems to all be in order, I have it running
on various servers without any problems..

So I'm wondering if there's any limitations on the sourceforge webserver
that I should know about?

Greetings,

Our project web servers all mount the user home directories and
the project group directories read-only for security reasons.
How to deal with this is described in our documentation. For
instance, the Project Web Environment Details section:

https://sourceforge.net/docs/E07#environment

and File and Directory Permissions section:

https://sourceforge.net/docs/E07#permissions

If you have any further questions, please let us know.

Thank you,

This is so weird, I'm not getting the error anymore right now (for the
time being) but it's like the sessions are totally messed up..

I login, it works, I go to another page, works, go to another page, bam
session is gone for some reason.. I refresh and it works again, I go to
another page and bam the session is gone again..

Again I want to point out that this is most propably not the script im
using, I programmed it myself and I'm pretty sure this is not causing it
