XMMS Jack audio plugin

Tracker: Bugs

5 xmms jack disconnects when switching file types. - ID: 1719047
Last Update: Comment added ( chrismorgan )

When xmms switches from playing one file type to another, xmms-jack will
disconnect from the output that it is connected to.

I currently have it set not to connect automatically, and am manually
managing my connections.

I've verified the problem by putting a flac file in the middle of a
playlist of mp3s. It plays fine until it gets to the flac, where it
disconnects. I reconnected it, and it plays the rest of the track and then
disconnects again when switching back to mp3s.

It may occur with other file types as well, but I haven't checked.

email me at nwimpney@yah00.c0m (change the numbers back to letters first)
if you need any more info.

Given that xmms is being phased out and xmms2 exists to replace it (and
has a native jack output plugin), I haven't really been working on
xmms-jack very actively since it works for most people. I am familiar with
the issue you mention and it certainly should be fixable without requiring
a disconnection.

If you end up patching bio2jack/xmms-jack to perform this operation
without disconnecting I'd love to merge your patch back in and roll out
another release to include the feature. I'm sorry I can't offer more, I
think xmms-jack is mostly in its twilight at this point.

It also disconnects on changes in sample rate.
