5 Roboform won against winpooch - ID: 1696584
Last Update: Comment added ( nobody )

Hi all together
I tried to run winpooch with roboform (imagine roboform as keylogger or
field value burglar..).

I tried to block roboform getting the fieldvalues of my browser, but it
won!

Why?
Because winpooch doesn't tell me wich Programm tries to access data, so I
can not decide if it's a dangerous process or not. It only tell me some
different IP-Adresses and I can't and I don't want to separate those
Adresses.
Guess it's better to check the processes directly with some tools like
process explorer...!

p.s.
Also the Anit-Keylogger AKLogNT lost against roboform in the same test!

regards

Roboform didn't win against Winpooch, it won against you. Winpooch is in
the simplest form, a firewall. It can only protect you if you let it. If
you are worried about people not knowing what they are doing... As with any
firewall, when security is important, and user knowledge is unknown, you
should set it to ALLOW only what is safe. All else should be blocked. Then,
when a new unknown program tries to run, it is blocked, no user-input
should be gathered.

Hello,

You're talking about http://www.roboform.com/, right ?
I didn't know this software before, but it doesn't look like a malware to
me.
It's not a keylogger either...

I don't understand what you expect of Winpooch.

Regards,
Benoit
