5 unacceptable cpu usage - ID: 1695829
Last Update: Comment added ( yfabian )

I think that the character drawing engine is somehow broken: an outputful
task like compiling a package on another machine makes iTerm eat 60% of the
cpu (as reported by top) which is a G4 667, with a 1152x768 fullscreen
window and just 1 tab. Plus, the output is slow in such a way that it
actually slows down the program (eg cat very_long_file takes an eternity on
iTerm but not even a second on xterm). It seems like a buffer problem or
whatever, because iTerm outputs a couple of lines, then it looks like it's
computing something, then it writes another bunch of lines, etc...
The framerate setting don't change much (seems to have a small impact on
the time between each bunch of lines) and the performance tips on the
project homepage didn't help either.

The latest CVS has probably fixed this problem. Please check it out.

Hello,

on 0.9.5.0517, I have an additionnal problem with vt100;
my TERM is set to vt100, when I open a simple "man man", the up
and down arrows are not working. Terminal.app is ok.

did not find any menu to tweak this behaviour. Ready to test
any new release as it comes.

thanks for this great terminal application.

Olivier
