5 R20070319/Qt4.2.2 doesn't allow < 6 cols in layer table - ID: 1694838
Last Update: Comment added ( jurgenthies )

Hi,
it looks like the latest release 20070319 doesn't allow to adjust the width
of the layer table to less than 6 columns as long as the mouse help is
docked at the same side. Previous releases allowed to adjust for 5 columns,
which is very handy when it comes to layer numbers, right ?

Either this new restriction is releated to Qt 4.2.2, the default fonts and
their size/width choosen by this Qt release, or there've been some
modifications in layout editor.

Toby

PS: It looks like this release crashes (blue screen !) my WinXP Pro 64
regularly during editing / graphical operations (rearranging toolbars,
refresh of the screen, etc.) Since the Nvidia QuadroFX driver is latest
certified release and doesn't show any problems with other apps, I'm
suspecting Qt4.2.2, maybe the QtOpenGL4 extension. Is there a way to get a
windows binary without OpenGL dependency for debugging ?

It depends on the selected style whether 5 or 6 columns are displayed.
See http://doc.trolltech.com/4.2/qstyle.html#details for details.
"layout -style motif" or "layout -style cde" allow 5 columns under linux.

OpenGL is only used in the 3d-display. If you don't use this, the problem
must be somewhere else. From Trolltech task
(http://www.trolltech.com/developer/task-tracker/index_html?method=entry&id=150732)
i assume, that it is necessary to recomplie the application/qt for winxp
64. I can not do this due to missing hardware.
