Eclipse Checkstyle Plug-in

Tracker: Feature Requests

7 Bulk enabling for several projects in one step - ID: 1680397
Last Update: Comment added ( lkoe )

It is common that systems under development consist of many different up to
dozens of projects. To activate the eclipse-cs plugin you have to go into
the properties of each of them and check always the box to activate
checkstyle for this project. That's annoying -- it is important to have a
way to do a bulk activation for multiple projects. The checkstyle settings
for the different projects could be equal.

OK, feature has been in the wild for a while - seems to be working quite
well.

I am closing this RFE then, for additional ideas/changes please open a new
request.

See you around,
Lars

Initial implementation of the feature is in CVS.
I uploaded a snapshot build here:

You will find 3 new actions in the Package Explorer popupmenu, when one or
more projects are selected:
1. Configure project(s) from blueprint... - A dialog appears where a
blueprint project (not selected!) needs to be chosen.
Upon confirmation the blueprint projects configuration will be applied to
all selected projects.
2. Activate Checkstyle - activates Checkstyle on selected projects
3. Deactivate Checkstyle - the opposite

The implementation is still very basic, but it should do what you need.
I am open for more suggestions on this feature.

Increased the priority. I have many dozens projects in my application and
it is a showstopper to active the Eclipse Checkstyle plugin one by one.
