Driver for RTL818x based WLAN adapters

Tracker: Bugs

5 unknown symbols in rtl818x - ID: 1646194
Last Update: Comment added ( bdheeman )

I'm using fedora core 5 (kernel 2.6.15). My wireless
card is ZyXEL PCI (Realtek 8185 rev 20). I don't have
problem compiling the drivers and the ieee800211 drivers.
When I try to load the drivers using insmod there are
problems with ieee80211_crypt_tkip-rtl.ko (unknown
symbol "wireless_send_event" and a lot of unknown
symbols when I install the driver rtl818x (ieee80211_wx_get_name,
ieee80211_reset_queue,
ieee80211_wx_set_encode, etc, etc)

Can you help me to fix these problems?

The error messages you see are due not following a certain sequence while
loading/inserting appropriate modules.

I think, the 'make install' might have updated your module mappings also;
so better you use the 'modprobe' utility for automating such things.
