7 lcal gray background - ID: 1606040
Last Update: Comment added ( marr99 )

The pale white of the moon comes out more impressivly, if the background is
not also white. This patch uses a light gray for the background that should
not be too hard on your toner consumption.

I directly patched the postscript output, forgive my ignorance.

Have fun.

The capability of 'lcal' to control colors (via the '-s' command-line
option was expanded in the new 2.1.0 release. This essentially allows what
the submitter of this item requested (and much more). This item is now
considered closed.

Thanks for the patch. It results in a very nice-looking lunar calendar!

You can, of course, achieve a grey background with the '-s' option, but as
you probably already know, that results in coloring the moons grey too,
which doesn't look nearly as nice as your patched Postscript output with
the pure-white moons on a grey background.

This has prompted me to look into the colorization options for 'lcal'.
Before the next release, I'm considering making some changes (maybe a new
option, to supplement the existing '-s' and '-i' colorization options) to
allow the effect of your patch without having to hand-patch the raw
Postscript output.

Thanks again for your input -- much appreciated!
