5 redirection to start download should be removed - ID: 1561635
Last Update: Settings changed ( pfalcon )

Internet Explorer 7 and if I recall correctly Internet
Explorer 6 SP2 block downloads triggered by
redirections. This is how SourceForge.net currently
starts downloads. As a click is needed to tell the
browser that the download is okay, there is no
convenience in using the redirection to start the
download. I would suggest that the redirection to
start the download part of the functionality be
removed. It causes the browser to keep refreshing
anyway when files have not been mirrored to the other
sites yet.

I just downloaded Internet Explorer 7 (7.0.5730.11) and
cannot download at all. The redirect pages simply reload
over and over. Holding the ctrl key the entire time does
not help. The popup blocker does not display at the top. If
I turn off the popup blocker it does not change.

I was using Internet Explorer 7 Beta 4 (or 3, I forget now)
prior to today and though problematic, I was able to
download. Today (with the official release version) I
cannot get a file at all.
