Sometimes I miss what move the other player makes. Or
I make a move and it changes more than I expected. A
highlight of the last move or two would be nice. I am
thinking that changing the background of the affected
squares would be good - just a darker or lighter shade
of the same color, so as not to be too distracting.
And the piece that was placed could be two or three
shades darker or lighter. If the computer (AI) is next
to move, perhaps delay one or two seconds so the
previous move can be seen.
As for the programming, it could be handled similar to
"possible moves". Or perhaps it would be better to
make the background (and perhaps the "possible moves")
a separate attribute of each cell, so it does not
affect the move calculations. Then the AI move can be
calculated while the previous move is being shown (if
the display board is a separate copy from the
calculation board, which appears to be true, then this
is not a factor).
