5 Resurrecting an abandoned project - ID: 1544026
Last Update: Settings changed ( wdavison )

Hello,

I am writing to discuss a project which appears to be
abandoned: Netx (http://sourceforge.net/projects/jnlp/)
This project does not appear to have any activity for
several years. I have downloaded the source code and
updated it. I would like to contribute it back to the
project, but there does not appear to be a project owner.

The old project owner was Jon A. Maxwell. I tried
contacting him by e-mail at his sourceforge.net address
and the address on his personal web site, but both
messages bounced.

What options are available for resurrecting the project?

Michel

Greetings,

What you need to do is to start an Abandoned Project Take-over
request (APT) via the normal project creation tool. Just click
on the Create Project link (under SF.net menu), use the same
UNIX name for the project (apparently jnlp), and fill in all
the details, just like your would for a new project. The only
difference will be that it will ask you about the conflict with
the UNIX name, and you should choose the project take-over
option.
