5 SVN import issue - ID: 1472054
Last Update: Comment added ( burley )

Project UNIX name: frostwire
Project URL: http://sourceforge.net/projects/frostwire

We have tried MANY times using various different ways
(cvs2svn etc..) to get our CVS to import into our SVN
repository, but it completely fails each and every time.

We do not have any idea why it fails.

Thanks,

Ian Walker

Greetings,

You hit a bug that another project hit, due to the dump file
size. I've fixed that bug and pushed it out. I am manually
running the import now, and don't anticipate any further
issues, so am closing this ticket out. I suspect this import
will be completed in an hour or so (if not much sooner).

Thank you,

1. /home/groups/f/fr/frostwire/cvs2svndump.bz2
2. Default options... Just load it to wherever it should go,
under the project name "frostwire"

Please advise:

1. What is the path to the SVN dump file you want imported?

2. What are the options you want me to use?

Hi David,

Yes we did try the dump file, zipped and unzipped, it just
failed.

Then we tried the dumpfile on a local machine, and after
about an hour it finished importing to a local subversion
repository.

You can find our gzipped dump on /home/groups/f/fr/frostwire

We imported sucessfully using the unzipped dump file on our
local machine and the command

$ svnadmin --parent-dir projectA load /path/to/svnrepo <
cvs2svn-dump

as explained on the cvs2svn Faq.

Please advise: Have you converted your repository to a SVN
dump file, and tried to import from it? If not, that's your
next step, as 99.9% of the time, it needs manual
intervention when there's a failure.

Thank you,
