3 list of messages instead of individual ones - ID: 1406364
Last Update: Settings changed ( burschik )

As the game wears on after each turn more and more
individual messages pop up and clicking OK on all of
them takes longer and longer. Instead of individual
messages, one larger window with all the messages would
be nicer where player can take action on the ones they
wish or click OK for all of them at once.

I've just played FreeCiv (http://www.freeciv.org/) which had
a message window always open at the bottom. You could click
on the message line and it would take you to the appropriate
town. I thought that was a good way of solving the same
problem as well.

I have begun implementing this suggestion.

Good idea. I really like the message settings in Paradox
games like "Europa Universalis", where every type of message
can be configured to display in a popup window (either
stopping the game or not), or in the log window. I would
really like something like this in FreeCol (in the far future).

In the more immediate future, I would like to have per turn
reports, for warehouse and SoL levels, for example.

Furthermore, we should try to prevent model messages from
opening when panels (such as the Europe panel) are open.

Having a larger window for displaying all the messages is
quite easy to implement, since we already have a list of
all model messages to be displayed.

I recommend adding this feature as an optional client
feature. The feature could then be enabled from
the "Preferences" menu option.
