lzop is a compressor of it`s own - what is meant is lzo compression.

license of lzo library is compatible (gpl, too) and minilzo
(http://www.oberhumer.com/opensource/lzo/#minilzo ,
http://www.oberhumer.com/opensource/lzo/download/minilzo-2.02.tar.gz)
should be probably easy to integrate.

lzo can compress/decompress gigabytes in seconds, and having this in 7zip
would be a revolution and i assume, the userbase would immediatly grow very
much!

i think besides those pretty standard
"bzip2/best-compression/slow-performance" and
"gzip/good-compression/good-performance" tools, there is just that
"lzo/not-that-perfect-compression/but-insane-performance" compressor out
there, deserving some more notice.

This request is a duplicate of 805482.

Anyway, I also would like to see LZO compression support in
7zip. The main advantage of LZO is speed.

Mario A. Valdez-Ramirez.

Yes, I also would like to see support for Markus F.X.J.
Oberhumer's LZOP codec.
Because this compression codec is optimized for (mainly de-)
compression _speed_ and small size of the (self extracting
de-) compressor, it would be best suited for doing:

all-day backing up data files.

When backing up data files I'm always looking for _fastest_
backup speed, even if the compression rate will only be
moderate.

Since LZOP is distributed under the GPL, it should be
compatible to 7-ZIP.

Lastly note that LZO 2 (2.02) is born, see:
http://www.oberhumer.com/opensource/lzo/
