I receive the same error message. After word the program just hangs for
as long as I cared to leave it around (just a minute or two).

My system is Ubuntu 6.10, built glimmr from release 0.5.6.

On a Fedora Core 5 the same error occurs in a freshly built
from dl'd source. Files are world readable

Don't use web upload, and don't use Glimmr since it is not
being developed any more. Use <a
href="http://juploadr.sourceforge.net/">jUploadr</a> instead.

I have the same problem, Fedora Core 4 here. Looks like
I'll just use the web upload for a while. :)

In order to implement the new authentication API the code
needs to present both the glimmr API key and the shared
secret (see
http://www.wackylabs.net/flickr/flickr-api/examples-part-1).
The current code contains the API key and not the shared
secret (as far as I can see).

This is down to Glimmr not using the current authentication
API. It needs to be modified to use the new Flickr.NET API
call to do the initial login.

I'm getting the same problem with glimmr-0.5.6 on Fedora
Core 4. I suspect it is because Glimmr needs to be
authenticated via the Third-Party apps page in my profile,
but I can't see how to add it.

Same here. Does this have anything to do with the
Yahoo-fusion? Since my Yahoo- and Flickr usernames are
different, I'm directed to the wrong url (when choosing from
the GO menu in glimmr)...
