Microtek ScanMaker 3600 driver

Hello,
Well my Mircrotek ScanMaker 3600 is detected well if
it shows it in dmesg but the problem is that i'm unable
to scan and preview any thing from xsane or any front
end. I noticed that my scanning rod (light thing) moves
approx .5 inches down then goto up and then try to move
further upward i dunt know whats wrong b/c it results a
lot of vibration. Kindly tell me whtas wrong with it????
