Mass editing of titles would be great. you should check out how it done in
picasaweb.google.com. It shows a list of thumbnails of the photos and an
edit field to the right of each photo. You edit what you want and just
press Done.

Similarly, a method to mass edit the "Custom Fields" would be nice!

I am going to vote on this new feature given that I think that is
obviously THE one missing the most in G2.

Two top priorities I would add in mass edit are the following:
- rotate possibilities
- hide/unhide pictures.

I assume there would be a checkbox system close to each picture, and, once
selection is made, you can apply the mass edit function you decided.

If that's the case, the check box system could be used also for the "add
to cart" function, don't you think ? because either to download a zip file,
or to send pics to print, to have to select eah and every one of them, one
by one, is extremely painful.

This would be a real nice feature since I am making a gallery of about
5000 scanned old negatives.
I want to first upload them and then edit date, description etcetera. I
will also sort them into different galleries so a funktion to move
multipple items from one gallery to another would be nice.

I've made a user implementation of this package.

At the moment it provides bulk file renaming and title
editing. The framework is in place, so adding any other
property edits should not be difficult.

Please post in the forum thread linked from the above page
with the features you'd like to see, and I'll get onto them
when I get a chance. If anyone would like to contribute, to
get their features added, I'd be more than happy to work
with you.

Date & time, permissions, hidden/unhidden... a bunch of
things this would be great for. G2 is way better than G1,
but having to go through so many menu clicks to do stuff
like hiding or changing permissions or timestamps on a
SINGLE photo is time consuming enough, having to do it
manually on many photos is downright painful.

The way this feature has been implemented in iTunes is very
convenient: edit fields of multiple tracks at the same time.
Maybe, the developers of Gallery can get inspiration of
iTunes at this point.

Yes, selection similar to delete image (when one can shoose
more than one item to aply action to) will be very usefull
for editing as well.

This should also include "custom Fields". It would also be
great if custom fields could be included in the "Edit
Captions" page, to allow for mass editing of custom fields

Mass editing permissions would also be great. I have many
albums with mixed nature pictures and personal pictures. I
would like to be able to pick the personal ones and allow
only registered users to see them.
