MFC MUTE

First, works and wonderfully on XP. But on 98SE it generates the
encryption key but a little later the following pops up:

One is invited to Abandon, Reessayer, or Ignorer
(on the second reinstall I chose French, but the English did the same
thing)

If one hammers on Ignorer long enough the problem does start but it it
nearly took down my OS, the system complained about being dangerously on
resources, and I shut it down.

A google search for titlemenu.cpp and mute turned up a similiar complaint
in the Italian boards about this, but even with translation software I
could not quite make out what, if any, resolution was forthcoming.
