A default resolution in the user settings, or in the session choice would
indeed be great

and another very similar addon would be nice on the slideshow applet,
letting the user choose his prefered resolution at the applet launch, with
an extra "choice 1, choiceX, ..., choiceFull Size"

Having to switch the size everytime effectively makes this feature useless
as it is. Remebering the sizes is really a must if there is an option to
change sizes.

There is one thing that needs to be worked out with this feature request,
and that is for image galleries where images don't have the same image
sizes.

A sensible solution to this is to offer the image size that is nearest the
one previously used.

Two configuration options then become necessary, listed by priority:

1. Per user option: choice of automatic selection of the lower or higher
nearest size
2. Per gallery default: choice of automatic selection of the lower or
higher nearest size

This is one feature I would really love. I don't want to mess around with

resolutions etc, just have them choose a size and maintain that size.

Per session with just a cookie would probably work fine with
no excessive complexity.

It would be really great if you were able to configure it
as well dependant upon the user's screen resolution. For
example you could set it so that if they came at 1024x768,
show them images at 640x480, but if they have 1280x1024
show at 800x600 and so on
