As already explained in bug #1173403, Thingamablog
translates non-ASCII (e.g. accentuated) characters into HTML
entities. This is very annoying, and unuseful when using UTF-8
(or even ISO-8859-1 when typing French accentuated
characters).
I have created a separate bug, because I believe that it is
easier to solve at first, than completely preventing HTML
auto-reformatting as requested in bug #1173403.
I also believe that translating characters into entities should
NOT be performed BOTH when typing in the editor window,
and in the HTML code window.
Translation is also not consistent: if I cut and paste Japanese
characters encoded in UTF-8 into the editor, they do not get
translated into entities like e.g. French accentuated characters.
For that specific problem, I am asking for an option for
deactivating the translation of characters into entities.
I propose to put that option in the journal options, below the
list of character encodings.
And thanks for that great tool. :)
