5 [G2] Boolean Search Please - ID: 1221234
Last Update: Comment added ( tanaous )

A boolean search feature would be wonderful for Gallery
if it is possible to do so.

You do a great job, thanks a lot! Adding boolean search would be a big
step. Using gallery for NGO-projects with no or low budget such functions
would be incredible helpfull for data managment.

again, many thanks

Case-insensitive search would also be good. Capitalization varies wildly
in most galleries, and case-sensitive searches miss many of these.

Please add boolean search. My keywords don't work nearly as well if I
have to limit searches to one word.

Yes agreed, this should really be a *MUST*.
With all the power and configurability of Gallery 2.2
a weak search will just not do. Please please please.
Don't make me say please please please please.
(but I will if I have to...)

Thanks and take care

I have +40k pics in my G2 and it the standard search is virtually useless.

Boolean search would be nice!
The search module is unusable for me because my users would like to search
for multiple keywords in random order. Searches like "blue car" and "car
blue" should return the same results!
Maybe you could add this as a first step towards boolean search.

addition.

I noticed after putting in key words to help the search
function work better, the results seem to be too specific.

For example, if I put the key word "big green apple" in a
photo then seach for "big green" or "green apple" (or any
single individual key word) I get results fine. But if I
put "big apple" or "green big"I get no results. It looks
like it searches sequential keywords only.

Any chance a non-sequential search query (for lack of
better terms) can be made for v2?

one idea for patch:

this RFE has a small patch for AND searches.
of course, a true boolean search would be "a little" more
involving:
