5 KisMAC + 1.0.beta6 on Tiger - ID: 1219280

Details:

The story begins...I had 10.3.9 with kismac and patched-wireless
driver...everything worked like a charm...then I installed tiger and the
driver stopped working. I googled about month later and discovered
http://www.seattlewireless.net/index.cgi/WirelessDriver...so I
downloaded it and compiled...worked OK...it's the same as the
1.0.beta6 here...but the problem is...

KisMAC installer has the patched driver in version 1.0.beta5 that
doesn't work under Tiger. Is somewhere source of the patch that
enables loading and unloading the kext... ?
When trying to unload WirelessDriver.kext/ it says failed...it's
because the driver is not patched.

Date: 2005-09-16 01:44 Sender: chilibowl Logged In: YES user_id=967239 i'm using 10.4.2. i followed the instructions given by the last post. everything seems to work except that the WirelessDriver does not seem to accept a DHCP address and when one is entered manuely it does not work even though it says it is connected to the network. also when quitting kismac unload and reload driver does not work.

Download and install the official beta-6 for tiger from wirelessdriver.sf.net Download and install KisMAC 2.0a or better....say YES to install the patch Download [URL=http://3web.dkm.cz/modrak/WirelessDriver.kext.zip] http://3web.dkm.cz/modrak/WirelessDriver.kext.zip[/URL] MY kernel extesion...patched to work with KisMAC...unloading,mac changing etc... Unpack MY kext to /System/Library/Extensions/ -- you'll need to authenticate.. launch Terminal.app Now in the command line do: sudo su (enter your admin password) chown -R root /System/Library/Extensions/WirelessDriver.kext chgpr -R wheel /System/Library/Extensions/WirelessDriver.kext and REBOOT That's all, kismac works and of course the wireless connection...under Tiger Hope this will help... Will post sourcecode if somebody wants...pack up my whole directory with XCode project... Post any problems and commeny.Feedback is welcome. Ondra.
