The original DBD driver appears to be broken, because
it would appear that database.c does not export several
crucial functions, and the DBD driver itself doesn't
seem to properly check whether any variables are
actually bound by a query being submitted: if you have
a query that doesn't bind variables, it will fail. The
patch fixes that, and apparently it seems to work
properly for me.
