5 RFE: ndiswrapper as linux kernel patch - ID: 1068707

Details:

Sometimes people need to build the linux kernel package with unique
patch set. If I want to build my kernel package with ndiswrapper
driver, I must make patch from sources. It is not convenient for me.

Due to above I have written shell script that makes linux kernel
patch from source (Kconfig patch and kernel Makefile are included).

I propose to add this helper to the mainstream of ndiswrapper.

Date: 2004-11-21 12:05 Sender: pgiri Logged In: YES user_id=918798 I am not sure what this patch does. Does it allow one to compile ndiswrapper as part of the kernel (as opposed to module)? Or it just integrates ndiswrapper into kernel which can then be compiled as module? If latter, what exactly is the advantage? What is wrong with building ndiswrapper as module outside of kernel sources?
