5 [G2] Option not to count certian users views - ID: 1046263
Last Update: Settings changed ( ckdake )

Is there a way to restrict view counts from being
updated based on User Account or IP address or
something to that effect? A "Don't count admin visits"
or "Don't count owner visits" option would be useful.

I agree this option would be nice. When I initially setup a new gallery I
check every single picture for the right alignment and orientation. When
logged in to admin it counts and it does throw off the counts.

[G2}It would also be helpful to eliminate view counts in the public view
but maintin it in admin view.

While the coding is being done(;~) please add a VisibleTo functionality
with a
siteadmin, user, registered user, specified group and guest matrix of
options.

In Gallery2, the Admin user's clicking should be
controllable when it comes to statistics collection.

Admin clicks (especially when first setting up the
Gallery, but also later) really throws the stats out of
whack (especially for low traffic galleries).

Possibly an option to limit the number of Admin views
counted over a duration of the Admin's choosing (e.g.
max one Admin view count per day; max two Admin view
counts per 7 days, etc.).

This method would provide the most flexibility. If you
didn't want Admin views counted at all, you could set
the option to 'max 0 Admin view counts per day'.
