5 Hardware support? - ID: 1016024

Hello,.

I'm glad to see you're taking on this idea!

I've been considering what to do with my small
collection of plants, and I came to a few solutions
with varying degrees of control (none of which I've
taken the initiative to implement yet):

- have an automatic plant watering system (electric
timer hooked to a solenoid valve controlling water
flow).
- program an embedded micro to interface an array
of solenoids, and also add hardware to monitor soil
wetness, humidity, etc. Compare to separate plant
profiles to determine watering, humidity, and
sunlight exposure.
- add to a linux server an interface to the
'greenhouse' hardware thus allowing super user
monitoring and control.

I see yours will be in a cross-platform php format
controllable over the web.
In your design, will you be interfacing to hardware,
or will this be strictly a database style greenhouse
assistant?

Thanks,
-Ben

Well, the original idea is to have a "business side"
management application, and then integrate hardware
controlling as a module.
