Yes, I need this. My environment has only http proxy (bad one).

I tried many IMs, and only AMSN's proxy support is working.

MSN from MS works for a minute and gets disconnected. It alerts me
that the connection is closed, but does not reconnect automatically.

iChat does the same; no stable connection, no auto-reconnection.

Adium (libGaim-base) logged in to MSN for a second and changed my
nickname on the server, but does nothing other than that.

So, I would love to see good proxy-support for both AIM and
MSN. It would be major advantage of this application.

Great application, if I could only get it to work behind a proxy
firewall which only allows HTTP proxy port 8080, and Socks 4 port
1080. Please, please include this feature in the next revision.

I can't use the Mac version of MSN because it doesn't do http proxy
malarkey. It would be great if you supported http proxies in your product.

Cheers.

Do us a big favor and utilize the system network proxy
settings... I have several network configurations and
changing proxies for all my apps is a drag... Simple
no-authorization http proxy on port 80....

I also would humbly request socks proxy support.
Without sock support I cannot use it.
Please support socks. :)

Proxy Proxy Proxy!!! Oh xxx.... please give fire a nice little present of

HTTP proxy support ... Im not sure how many of the other msg protocals
can use HTTP but I know yahoo and MSN can ...and if SOCKS was
supported too then it wouold be possible to use a tunneling program and
escape our meen nasty firewalls ..... Pleaseplaseplseas

--Fire is wikkid . I love it.

Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeese can we have proxy support. There's so
many chat clients so Fire is fab - but we can't use it on our proxy! When

will this be included?

I also would like to join the bandwagon and
encouraged support for a proxy server setting. As of
now I cannot use fire at all due to the lack of proxy
support. An https server proxy would be might dandy. I
appreciate all your hard coding work and your program
is excellent. thank you.

David

Ditto. Are we going to see this anytime soon? Anytime at
all? (I'd do it myself, but I only know Java. Don't start
learning c until next semester...)

yep, I'd also love proxy support. It shouldn't be too difficult, at least
with icqlib; I hacked together proxy support for Miranda ICQ years ago...
(and I wouldn't use MSN anyway)

Great program.

I would also love a HTTP and a Socks5 support!

I would love to see proxy support for:
- http-Proxies
- SOCKS v4 and/or v5

It would be even better if the proxies that are already set
in Internet Config to be used instead of supplying them
again to fire, but maybe that is an option? Like a
checkbox "Use Internet Config" or "manual"

Adding proxy support would be terrific. Can you utilize
the existing proxy configuration-setting within the
"Network Control Panel" ?

The current yahoo IM for Mac OS 8-9 does not work in
proxy mode. Thus, I am really stuck when within my
company's network.

Thanks!
