variables not expanded in class javadoc - ID: 606173

The template for a class javadoc:
/**
* DOCUMENT ME!
* @author $user.name$
*/
Using it from JDeveloper user.name = <OS username>
but it's not replaced when inserted into the file.
I tried replacing the variable with a custom, user one,
e.g. author but it's still not replaced.
User variables seem to be replaced in method javadoc
templates but system variables are not.
